TÀU HÀM LUÔNG 09
Refurbishment of Ham Luong 09 Tanker
1,100 DWT - HAM LUONG 09 was built in 2002 for carrying gasoline and diesel oil, sailing in the river. She belongs to Petrolimex Joint Stock Tanker Company- PJTACO (PETROLIMEX GROUP).
In 2008, PJTACO and Total (France) entered into a contract which specified that HAMLUONG 09 will carry Jet fuels for Total from Vietnam to Cambodia. Due to the transportation of jet fuels, high requirement of coating system was made to HAMLUONG 09’s cargo oil tanks. Full tanks must be coated by epoxy paint that can meet the most stringent requirements of Jet fuels. Finally, Euronavy paint was chosen.
In October 2008, PJTACO and Hi-Pec (Euronavy’s distributor in Vietnam) entered into a contract, under which Hi-pec will supply Euronavy paints for 6 cargo oil tanks of HAMLUONG 09. The refurbishment was carried out in 76 Shipyard in Ho Chi Minh City. Surface preparation was done by steel-grit blasting to standard Sa 2.5. Full coating system of 2 coats (150 microns for each) of cargo tanks was applied by a special paint ES301 (Solvent free, flash rust tolerant, humidity tolerant).
Daily activity reports, final inspection reports, and photo reports are displayed as below.
The blasting and painting job prolonged 16 days (from 3rd to 18th November, 2008) and were supervised by Owner’ rep, Total and Hi-pec (Euronavy).
